The client needed a safer way to collect product samples after the mixing process. An automatic sampler was available from Europe, but its cost made it unsuitable for the project.
Momentum Industrial assessed the production line and developed a more practical manual solution tailored to the client’s equipment and operating requirements.
Using CAD modelling, our team designed a purpose-built sampler that could be integrated directly into the client’s existing product chute without replacing or significantly modifying the surrounding equipment.
The design was developed around the available installation space, the direction of product flow and the client’s sampling requirements. Careful consideration was also given to how the operator would insert, rotate and withdraw the sampling cup safely and efficiently.
The operator pushes the sampling cup into the flowing product and then withdraws it through the sampler tube. The cup is rotated 180 degrees to release the captured material through the lower outlet for collection and testing.
This simple manual process provides reliable access to the product stream without the cost or complexity of an automated sampling system.
